August 21 at the UU Congregation of The Lowcountry - Please invite a friend who has never darkened our doors before. Why? Because a couple of world-class, pretty-darn-famous, insightful writers and believers in a better world will be with us. Frye Gaillard, who has won countless writing awards and is the author of more than 25 books about the South, culture, politics, music, the works will have with him copies of The Southernization of America, a book he wrote with Pulitzer Prize winner, Cynthia Tucker. The book is winning high praise including from NPR which has named it one of the best books of 2022. Along with Gaillard, Jane McAlister Pope, the retired editor of the editorial page of The Charlotte Observer will be with us. She has spoken to UU congregations before and is also an award-winning writer and a great human being. Our 10:00a.m. service is brought to us by one of our beloved guest speakers, the Rev. Pat Jobe, who says you will leave this service wishing you had brought friends with you. It will be sensational.
